About Us

The exterior of Elks Lodge with decorative lights and signage.

On a Thursday evening at 118 Upper Croton Ave, something unexpected happens. A Gypsy Jazz band takes the small stage inside the Ossining Elks Lodge, and within minutes the room forgets it's a lodge hall. Reviewers have called it "world class jazz in a location you'd never expect," and that surprise is exactly the point. Credit goes largely to John, the man behind the bookings, who has built a reputation for pulling in genuinely talented musicians every single week without fail.

The Elks Lodge has anchored this stretch of Ossining for generations, chartered under the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks as a place where neighbors look out for neighbors. Members support local veterans, fund youth scholarships, and show up when the community needs them. But the lodge is not a museum of good intentions. It is a living room that happens to have a stage, a bar, and a bartender named John who makes every first-timer feel like a regular by the second drink.

The intimacy is real. This is not a concert hall where you watch from a distance. You are close enough to hear the guitarist breathe between chord changes. At $10 a cover, it may be the best live-music value in Westchester County.

What We Offer

Live jazz anchors the week here. Thursday nights bring rotating acts curated by John, ranging from Gypsy Jazz to straight-ahead swing, all in an intimate room where the music wraps around you rather than bouncing off distant walls. Saturday nights extend the run for those who missed Thursday or simply want more.

Beyond the music, the lodge offers full bar service in a comfortable, no-pretense setting. Members and guests mingle at the same bar, which keeps the atmosphere genuinely social rather than transactional. The Elks also host private events, community fundraisers, and member gatherings throughout the year, making the space available for groups who want a real room with real character rather than a rented banquet hall.

Membership in the BPOE opens additional benefits: access to Elks lodges across the country, participation in charitable programs, and the quiet satisfaction of belonging to an organization that has been doing concrete good in American communities since 1868.

"We go in often for Jazz Nights, Italian Nights and other activities. It is NOT required that you be an Elk to attend the events. Food is awesome at the Italian Nights, and amazingly well priced. The bar staff is extremely friendly, the bar is cozy and there is a larger back room for parties. Highly recommend."
